Senior Underground Drill & Blast

This position reports to the Chief Mine Engineer and provides timely and professional technical support to the drill and blast role players to ensure safe and optimized extraction of the ore body. The role will provide technical support including the planning, design, scheduling, extraction sequencing,  modelling, analysis,  process  improvement,  reconciliation  and reporting.

• All planning, extraction sequencing, design and scheduling of long hole open stope longitudinal & transversal ring drilling and blasting, utilizing tools such as Data mine Aegis.
• Monitor and react to control the fragmentation and waste dilution within acceptable limits.
• Ring drilling, timing, and blasting performance modelling, in-situ performance assessment and adjustment according to local and global ground conditions in consultation with the Geotechnical Engineer
• Implement and manage control systems to ensure drilling, timing, and blasting.
• Drill and Blast cost planning as well as reconciliation, monitoring and improvement of cost.
• Drill and Blast database Management
• Follow safe work procedures.
• Input in Mine Strategic Business Plan

Requirements :

• Bachelor of Science (Mine Engineering)
• Minimum S years' experience in underground mining engineering
• Driver's License
• Microsoft Office competent, competency in Aegis Software, Shotplus, and Boretrack
• Managerial/Supervisory experience
• Technical design and analysis
• Technical knowledge of mining operations
• Planning, coordinating, and prioritizing.
• Analyzing and interpretation of information
• Applicable egal knowledge and understanding.
• Decision-making ability in a fast-changing environment.
• Experience with long hole stopping longitudinal & transversal stopes with orebodies width varying between 2 and 12 m or above.
• French & English language skills essential
